Policies on artificial intelligence (AI)

The editorial team of Giuristi: Revista de Derecho Corporativo (Giuristi: Journal of Corporate Law) assumed that submitted manuscripts are the authors' own creations and not the product of artificial intelligence. Authors assume ethical and legal responsibility for the submitted content. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, including texts, images, code, or references generated by artificial intelligence, as well as for any plagiarism, errors, or bias that may arise from its use.

Giuristi: Revista de Derecho Corporativo (Giuristi: Journal of Corporate Law) acknowledges that content generated by AI is not subject to copyright protection. The authorship of scientific texts belongs exclusively to human beings.

Giuristi: Revista de Derecho Corporativo (Giuristi: Journal of Corporate Law) acknowledges that artificial intelligence (AI) is a tool that can support legal research; for example, by recognizing the network of norms and jurisprudence surrounding a legal concept. However, its use cannot replace the critical analysis that must be carried out by legal scholars. In this sense, the use of artificial intelligence tools to fabricate data, jurisprudence, or national or foreign legislation at will, as well as to manipulate them in the research process, is unacceptable.

If the author has used artificial intelligence, this must be declared in the manuscript submission. To do so, the author must: (a) specify the name of the artificial intelligence tool, (b) describe its use and for which part of the text it was used, and (c) describe how the validity of the results was verified to ensure that no false or nonexistent legal sources, references, and/or information resources were included.

If the author used AI to generate images that complement or illustrate part of the explained text, it should be declared as a footnote to the image (Image generated by AI from the instructions given by the author).

For the academic community, failing to disclose the use of AI in a submitted manuscript is considered unethical. If dishonest use of artificial intelligence is detected, the articles or reviews will be removed from the editorial process, and the authors will be temporarily or permanently banned from publishing in the journal. If, after publication, a study is found to have been created primarily using artificial intelligence tools, the editorial board will conduct an evaluation to determine whether the manuscript should be retracted.

Additionally, the editorial team rejects the use of artificial intelligence tools by peer reviewers for evaluation or issuance of opinions. This is based on the risks to confidentiality and the superficial and nonspecific feedback provided by AI, as well as potential biases or hidden agendas.

It should be clarified that studies on AI and its relationship or use in law can be submitted.
